Senior Test and Demo Evaluation Engineer/Analyst

JHNA is seeking a talented Senior Engineer to support our Army Aviation government customer within the Technology Development Directorate at Fort Eustis, VA. This individual will be a part our Mission Systems team supporting Science & Technology work with UASs.

Roles/Responsibilities:

• Duties include developing and coordinating multi-faceted S&T test plans; designing operationally relevant use cases for capability demonstrations and joint experimentation; synchronizing testing efforts across partner organizations and stakeholders; supporting the Government in securing necessary airworthiness, range, and operational approvals for S&T test events; recommending and tracking performance metrics; managing schedule, cost, and technical risk during test planning and execution; assuming responsibilities of, and performing as test director for test and demonstration events; and performing post-test data analysis and reporting.

• Duties require knowledge of measures of performance and measures of suitability to assess mission effectiveness of new operational concepts or new capabilities.

• Travel up to 35% will be required.

  Required Qualifications:

• Ability to design and test operationally relevant vignettes with technical metrics to assess measures of performance and measures of effectiveness is required.

• Requires knowledge of DoD developmental test and evaluation practices, specifically as applied to assessing effectiveness of technology solutions for Army operational capabilities.

• Knowledge of military aviation operations is essential, and use of unmanned systems teamed with manned aviation units is highly desired.

• Experience in development of test and evaluation plans and in leading tests applicable to aviation systems is required.

• Experience with the safety of flight review board process (UAS preferred).

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited university are required.

• SECRET level security clearance is required.

  Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with simulation, live-virtual-constructive testing of unmanned systems, and field experiments for pilot-in the-loop evaluation of new technologies is highly desired.

• Experience with UAS flight operations or pilotage is desired.

• Knowledge of weapons or unmanned aircraft system launch from aircraft, helicopters, and ground systems is desired.
