Aerotek CNC Machinist in Newtown, Pennsylvania

CNC Machinist (2nd Shift with 15% Differential)

2nd shift Monday-Friday 3:30 PM to 12 AM

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Machinist who can safely and proficiently setup, prove-out, program, and operate CNC lathes, and/or milling machines, grinders, and gear shapers. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, revision level, and validity of production documentation and inspection tools prior to starting a job, perform part inspections to ensure quality of work, and monitor parts production to adhere to blueprint tolerances. Responsibilities also include deburring parts, maintaining equipment, providing technical training, and promoting a safe and positive work environment.

Skills

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in CNC equipment operation including lathes, milling, grinding, and gear shaping

  • Ability to work independently from blueprints, sketches, and instructions

  • Thorough knowledge of shop inspection equipment and inspection methodologies

  • Advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), metal cutting principles, tooling, and thread nomenclature

  • Proficiency in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, mechanical drafting, and computer skills in CAD and Solid Works

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to mentor shop personnel

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong initiative, integrity, and teamwork capabilities

  • Ability to speak, write, and read English fluently

Work Site & Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Newtown, Pennsylvania. The role is based in a well-run, clean, climate-controlled shop alongside a team of about 15 other machinists. The position requires wearing steel-toed boots, jeans, and a t-shirt.
