DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will collaborate with patients to help identify personal goals for recovery, determine the steps to reach recovery goals, and provide an environment of mutual respect, empowerment, and opportunity within the community. In addition, you will provide information on public services, educational opportunities, employment, and vocational supports, as well as actively listen to and advocate with patients to recognize their own strengths and recovery options.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime and travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirement: You must possess an active certification as a Certified Peer Specialist issued by the Pennsylvania Certification Board (PCB).

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
