Job Description
As a Machinist, your main responsibility will involve interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, written specifications, and schematics to properly layout and perform work. You will be required to set up and operate all available machines and machine tools, and perform progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements. Other duties include determining operation sequences, skillful use of all machinists’ hand tools, and determining machinability of metals to determine proper tooling selection (geometry) and application (feeds, speeds). The successful candidate should have experience, trade skill, and knowledge of machine shop practice, including a working knowledge of CNC machine operation and programming fundamentals. Work produced must consistently meet specification. You will also be responsible for monitoring coolant quality, changing coolant as required, and performing daily/weekly TPM tasks with accuracy and consistency. You may be required to perform other duties as designated by supervisor in the same salary grade or below.
