The inclusion and diversity manager role contributes to Starbucks success by creating a culture where inclusion and belonging are integrated throughout the business.  The manager will play a key role in bringing the I&D strategic plan to life by serving as a strategic thought partner to client groups (retail business leaders and retail PRO business partners) and provide I&D consultation to help the business solve problems and attain positive Inclusion, Diversity and Equity outcomes. The role models inclusive leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values.  

As a manager, inclusion & diversity, retail, you will:

    Research, benchmark, develop, and deliver enterprise Inclusion & Diversity strategies that are aligned with business priorities

•    Act as an ambassador and advocate for inclusion, diversity, and equity initiatives across the business

•    Provide consultation and support to PRO business partners and business unit/functional leaders, serving as a primary point of contact for Inclusion & Diversity and bringing back insights from the business to inform future work and prioritization

•    Support and facilitates the implementation of change management initiatives related to inclusion belonging, equity, accessibility and diversity programs, initiatives, or solutions.

•    Manages budget for programs, ensuring expenditures are within established parameters, emphasizing cost efficiencies.

•    Set team goals, inspire and encourage direct report(s) to Achieve Results, Help Others Succeed and Live our Mission and Values.

•    Leads self and others through minor and major change and continuous improvements including communication and education to stakeholders or clients on changes in policies, processes, or organizational practices.

•    Establish relationships and influence senior leaders across the business; partner and consult on business unit/functional I&D strategies, initiatives, and action plans

•    Collaborate with relevant internal stakeholders relating to company-wide integration of inclusion, diversity, and equity processes, practices, and policies

•    Participate in the development of and facilitate the implementation of change management initiatives

•    Identify, develop, and foster relationships with external stakeholders (i.e., industry thought leaders, consultants, vendors, and non-profit organizations) Negotiates contracts and manages vendors or consultant relationships.

•    Partners with cross functional groups, Partner Networks, Inclusion Council and other stakeholders to understand opportunities, tailoring strategies and programs to address the business needs.

•    Implements and maintains tracking strategies to monitor and evaluate impact and ROI of programs. Evaluates and analyzes feedback and key metrics to measure the effectiveness of inclusion and diversity programs and processes in meeting business goals.

We’d love to hear from people with:

 At least 5 years of experience leading programs or projects at a company, government institution, school, non-profit organization, or the Canada Armed forces. 

•    Application of industry-based program and/or project management methodologies and tools: 3+ years

•    Experience in managing multiple complex projects individually and through cross functional or virtual teams: 5+ years            

•    Progressive experience with large, complex organizations with people of diverse functional and cultural backgrounds: 6+ years

•    Deep commitment and experience leading, advancing and building equity and a culture of belonging across the organization: 6+ years

•    Ability to lead self and others successfully through minor and major change

•    Ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally, cross-culturally and cross-levels

•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills 

•    Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with stakeholders 

•    Ability to lead complex program and project efforts to completion

•    Ability to effectively influence others 

•    Ability to navigate ambiguity and work independently and as part of a team.

· Bilingual proficiency in English and French (an asset)
