Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Communication Specialist in Oak Ridge, TN.

The Communications Specialist will support the DOE Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management (OREM), Quality and Mission Support Division and Executive Officer. Specific tasks associated with this position include:

  • Anchoring then award winning Department of Energy Oak Ridge EnergyCast YouTube series

  • Produce videos that share progress updates, explain projects, and highlight employee accomplishments for OREM and its contractors.

  • Develop content for the OREM website, Environmental Management national newsletter, and Environmental Management internal employee newsletter.

  • Create written and visual content for the OREM social media platforms.

  • Expand and enhance the OREM internal communications efforts.

  • Assist in the development of marketing materials and presentations for nationwide conferences and local stakeholder organizations.

  • Assist with review and development of major OREM publications, such as the 10-Year Program Plan, Annual Cleanup Progress Report, and Public Involvement Plan.

  • Developing executive PowerPoint presentations and developing an archive of presentations for future use

  • Managing media inquiries and working with appropriate staff to ensure effective communications is provided to the media.

  • Planning and organizing meetings for internal and external audiences.

  • Planning events to celebrate agency accomplishments.

  • Writing articles for internal and external publication

  • Communication through internal and. external websites (e.g., SharePoint; Energy.gov; EM Communications Portal).

  • Providing graphics support for DOE presentations.

  • Producing videos that share progress updates, explain projects, and highlight employee accomplishments for OREM and its contractors.

  • Developing content for the OREM website, Environmental Management national newsletter, and Environmental Management internal employee newsletter.

  • Assist with review and development of major OREM publications, such as the 10-Year Program Plan, Annual Cleanup Progress Report, and Public Involvement Plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Marketing or Journalism (or other mass media)

  • Desired 10 + Years of Related Experience

  • Strong writing and interviewing skills

  • On camera experience

  • Proficient in filming and video editing
