Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
Actalent is currently hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer with proficiency in Creo who is looking to advance their career and technical abilities within the industry. Qualified candidates must have a bachelors degree in engineering and be local to Kansas City.
Responsible for mechanical design aspects of military and commercial high density power supplies, magnetics, transformers, and other power systems. This role involves creating innovative designs for new programs, communicating with customers about product specifications, and collaborating with engineering teams to support related activities. Additional responsibilities include generating original packaging designs, performing detailed mechanical analysis, writing technical proposals, and engineering documentation.
Hard Skills
5-10+ years of working experience in mechanical design and engineering.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field with relevant experience.
Proficiency in Creo and AutoCAD is required.
Experience with military reliability programs and/or military standards is preferred.
Knowledge and abilities with design layout/packages, materials selection, tolerance studies and design testing.
Knowledge of fabrication techniques such as machining, welding, sheet metal, potting, and/or impregnation.
Soft Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and teams.
Capability to lead design improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
Proficiency in writing engineering reports and technical proposals.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Olathe, KS.
