Reports financial analysis to Controller and Plant Staff as needed. Partners with key internal customers (i.e. operations) to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting and analysis. Performs product costing and cost accounting functions as directed. Analyzes and interprets financial data and recommends changes to improve systems and financial performance. Directs and monitors all inventory activity for raw materials and finished goods.

This is at the Old Fort, OH facility. Working hours are normal business hours Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Essential Functions

  • Participates in planning and forecasting with an ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Primary responsibility for product costing for all products produced. Also manages all bills of material, recipes, routings, etc. for accurate standard costing.

  • Performs all fixed asset accounting and leads the cash flow tracking for all capital spending at the plant

  • Super user for SAP financial modules and is very proficient in all SAP interface modules that deal with inventory.

  • Able to prepare the monthly cost report and participates in monthly cost review meetings with management.

  • Follows through on all variances at the plant to assure resources and analysis is used for resolution.

  • Works on all aspects of the quarterly forecast and annual budget

  • Able to processes month end closing, investigating and providing explanations for significant variances

  • Leads the GRIR program for all materials, overheads, and freight transactions. Provides analysis and is the lead for resolution.

  • Is the lead to resolve A/P discrepancies and vendor resolutions.

  • Inputs daily and verifies production confirmations from Crystal Reports.

  • Responsible for maintaining and resolving the Cost of Goods Inventory errors in SAP.

  • Overseas the MRO cycle count process.

  • Substantiates delivered versus confirmed production.

  • Analyzes all finished goods cycle counts and provides oversight to the Inventory Control Team.

  • Prepares all SOX and control related reports for the plant and distribution center (Fostoria) to provide management over sight and input before sign offs.

  • Leads and oversees the raw material inventory control for accurate cycle counting and book to physical entries.

  • Familiar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis, mid-month and month-end close responsibilities.

  • Must have strong analytical skills with ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong Excel skills and computer-based competencies.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to interact with local and corporate contacts.

  • A strong team player with ability to perform problem analysis and offer problem resolutions.

  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required.

  • Two to five years solid cost accounting or finance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis in monthly cost account closings.

  • SAP Experience with emphasis in the Production Planning/Product Costing module preferred.

  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System for tracking inventory preferred.
