As our Senior Accountant, you'll be part of an energized Accounting Team that is truly dedicated to supporting our WSECU brand Promise. You'll be responsible for balancing and reconciling the Mortgage general ledger accounts and custodial bank accounts, while supports investment reconciliation and lease accounting functions. Your day might include: Responsible for scanning Mortgage GL's daily for errors Reconciling Mortgage bank accounts and custodial accounts Communicating with Residential Lending staff regarding posting errors and corrections needed Preparing timely and accurately Gain/Loss for Mortgages Sold as well as Mortgage Sales summary reports for senior leadership Reconciling daily the Unapplied Funds to track re-conveyance fees and Trustee Services invoice Completing balance sheet reconciliations for Mortgage related general ledger accounts. Preparing the journal entries for the monthly investment principal and interest payments received Assisting in preparing month-end journal entries for the investment portfolio Preparing monthly investment roll forward analyses for Finance Dept. Reconciling Investment GL accounts to the external reports Preparing monthly lease accounting journal entry and reconciles Creating and maintaining lease accounting schedules for any new leases, amendments, or terminations in accordance with GAAP Preparing the monthly Kidder Matthews property management journal entry Preparing annual audit schedules for lease accounting Serving as a back-up for Vendor Maintenance to add any new vendors in Symitar. Cross training with Wire Desk to provide back-up support as needed What you bring to the team: A Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, but related experience may be substituted Minimum Five (5) years of experience in accounting, preparing general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and conducting month-end close related duties Detail orientation for accuracy Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, sumif's) Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills Bonus Points if you have: Two (2) years' experience in a financial institution such as a credit union or a bank Symitar software knowledge Experience with quarterly Call Report preparation or external audits Experience using mortgage loan operating system Competitive pay: $31.20 - $46.81 per hour, dependent on relevant qualifications, plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits package The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increase during their tenure in the position. The target range for qualified new hires is typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant's pay history into account. Position location: 330 Union Ave, Olympia WA. Employee must reside and perform all work in the state of Washington. This is a work from home/hybrid position with the exception of occasional on-site training, meetings and specific organization events.
