NBC Universal Boiler Technician – Plumbing (Journeyman Required) in Orlando, Florida

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain, service, test, troubleshoot, repair, and operate all boiler systems to ensure the continuous smooth operation of Universal Orlando. Including, but not limited to: Steam Boilers, Humidity Control (hot water) Boilers, Steam Generators, and Domestic Water Heaters. Maintain all facility boilers in accordance with all Factory Mutual, State of Florida, and Universal Orlando codes and standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, service, test, troubleshoot, repair, and operate all boiler systems to ensure the continuous smooth operation of Universal Orlando. Including, but not limited to steam boilers, humidity control (hot water) boilers, steam generators, domestic water heaters, and all associated piping and controls. Identify and correct boiler system anomalies including but not limited to conductivity, hard water, chemical levels, system leaks, and/or anything that could affect the continuous smooth operation of Universal Orlando.

  • Perform daily boiler PM’s including visual inspections of the McDonnel Miller valve, sight glass and valves, mercury switches, gas controls, burner and UV scanner, Honeywell control box, relief valve, feed water tank temperatures, and/or any other built-in safety devices on the boilers. Conduct Annual, Semi Annual, and Quarterly Pm’s in accordance with the UO frequency and standards.

  • Maintain all UO boiler records and reports to comply with all applicable codes, state boiler certifications, and the annual state inspection reports. Must maintain full compliance with all boiler training to be compliant with the State of Florida, Factory Mutual, and Universal Orlando’s codes and standards.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

  • A high school degree or GED is required.

  • Technical school is preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years boiler/heater experience in industrial and commercial construction, or a fast paced service company dedicated to boilers and maintenance is required.

  • 1+ year in theme park industry is preferred.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • A valid Florida Driver’s License is required to operate company vehicles.

  • A State or County Journeyman’s Plumbing License or State Certified Contractor’s Plumbing License is required.

  • Current boiler/heater certifications and/or trade school certifications are preferred.
