Siemens Energy Digital Support Specialist for Field Service in Orlando, Florida
A Snapshot of Your Day
This position will support the digitalization of various business and IT-related processes for the end users of Field Service (FS) in region North America, focused on the onboarding of FS engineers and technicians into digital projects through transitions to new software, digital processes and content. The Digital Specialist works with teams from various functions to manage procurement, assignment, distribution, setup, and training for mobile devices, software, and network connectivity at project sites. The goal is to empower field service engineers and technicians with the essential tools and knowledge needed to effectively carry out customer projects. With up to 50% travel within region North America, the position requires flexibility and a strong focus on teamwork and training. When not traveling to project sites, the Digital Specialist is based in Orlando (hybrid-office) and participates in departmental digitalization projects!
How You’ll Make an Impact
Enable the business to scale up with new digitalization projects that support continuous improvements for our operations and customers.
Be an early adopter of new FS applications and processes by testing and implementing new software, technologies, and workflows. Help FS users transition smoothly to the new system. Offer personalized training and understand the needs of field personnel and customers.
Coordinate and configure the satellite, 5G, and mesh network connectivity options at jobsites including any other required networking technologies.
Setup, manage and fix iOS devices to conform with internal information security policies where you will collaborate with IT staff, vendors, and users, maintaining detailed documentation for optimal performance.
Act as a bridge between software product vendors, internal teams, and field personnel, ensuring that the distinct requirements and objectives are met when implementing Microsoft programs, Apple devices, the Salesforce platform, and other software.
Facilitate the digitalization of field service technical content and data flow to support efficient project implementation.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience, in Computer Sciences, Networking Technology, Information Technology or related field preferred
3 years of experience preferred in end-user pilot testing for new software or application enhancements, with ability to document desired changes; performing support activities, individual coaching and trainings, and end-user engagement for software.
1 year experience configuring, managing, fix mobile devices on iOS platform.
Knowledge of networking technologies, including satellite, 5G, and mesh network connectivity.
Interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups in a global environment, showing communication and collaboration skills. Willingness to support engineers and technicians on off-hour shifts at customer sites.
Highly proficient in MS Office 365, MS Windows 11 Desktop Administration, Outlook Exchange and related applications, as well as creating user instructions and process documentation for hardware/software settings and updates.
