A Snapshot of Your Day
The Project Procurement Manager (PPM) Professional is the procurement lead in the project execution phase for Large Rotating Equipment (LRE) and represents the procurement function to the project organization and the customer in the Americas Region!
The PPM role leads the project budget, introduces sourcing strategies, and performs site support purchases to contribute to the success of the project and operative results.
The PPM must also champion the project needs within the procurement department to ensure the buyers are working towards the project goals!
The PPM reports directly to the Procurement Manager.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Analyze the scope of supply, and contractual obligations and understand the customer’s project needs
Identify procurement risks/opportunities and incorporate changes in supplier contracts to avoid non-conformances and claims
Expedite, as needed, and serve as liaison between suppliers and the project organization
Resolve delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices
Updates project plans and purchasing systems
Develop requests for quotes and develop new supply sources
Follow-up with buyers/suppliers regarding non-conformance costs (NCC)
Liaise and collaborate with Project Management and other procurement department functions to improve the project execution and facilitate the resolution of any related technical or administrative problems
Proactively ensure status transparency about the availability of resources and ensure early alerting in case of deviations
Clarify internal indicators for project controlling and compiling all relevant information to submit qualified reports for the project team and procurement management team (e.g., progress reports, expediting schedules, scorecards, quality plans, etc.)
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related subject area.
5+ years of successful experience in purchasing or similar roles managing sophisticated objectives in a matrix organization
Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of the field of specialization through successful completion of moderately sophisticated assignments
Optimally applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular area of specialization
Demonstrates knowledge of the organization's business practices and issues
Ability to work independently and with an organized and focused approach
Excellent communication skills and works well with others
Capable of navigating a dynamic work environment
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically or internationally
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
