Junior Crew Leader – Job Description

Junior Crew Leader

Summary:

Are you looking for your next big step? Have you been working in the landscape industry as a laborer but are ready for some new responsibility?  We want to help you grow. 

CSL is looking for our next crew leader and we know you might not be 100% ready but we are prepared to help get there and make you the best! 

The Jr Crew lead will work with a small team servicing commercial client sites, you will get leadership coaching equipment and driving training, and time with your foreman to help grow your skills into an amazing leader. 

Job Duties:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in landscaping or property maintenance.

  • Responsible for successful short-term (day-to-day) planning, efficient execution, and keeping operations managers aware of decisions being made.

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, or damage to vehicles/equipment.

  • Report defective material and report those and any unusual situations to Operations Manager.

  • Oversee the execution of the design, plan, and supervise the construction of landscapes, gardens etc.

  • Follow building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances

  • Able to perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning daily

  • Experience working with contractors and an awareness of the construction process.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of codes for the operation's geographical area required.

  • Able to apply the right mathematical methods and formulas to problem solving.

  • A willingness to learn, demonstrated initiative, ability to make decisions based on sound judgment

  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb, bend, dig, etc.

  • Comply with all company policies and regulations

Work Conditions:

  • 24/7 availability may be required.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 70lb.

  • Travel to the site, and off-site locations will be required.

  • Safety equipment are required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

  • Overtime as required.

  • Working outdoors year round.

  • This is a full time position throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons. This position transitions into winter duties.
