Dignity Health Oncology Nurse Navigator in Oxnard, California

Overview

As our Oncology Nurse Navigator, you’ll guide patients through each step of their comprehensive cancer care journey. You’ll provide physical and emotional support to patients utilizing services like radiation oncology, medical oncology, and palliative care.

Each day you will advocate for patients and their families by (proactively) identifying and addressing any barriers. You’ll also ensure they have access to and understanding of all available resources allowing them to make informed decisions as their needs change and evolve. You’ll also be their friend and cheerleader- someone they trust to guide them and who also celebrates their progress.

Responsibilities

  • Educate patients on types of cancer, treatment options, and clinical trial availability

  • Facilitate communication between all members of the health care team

  • Coordinate office visits across oncology care teams for continuity of cancer care delivery

  • Enhance each patients’ experience by staying involved- visiting patients at appointments, assessing patients needs, and relaying relevant information to providers

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years clinical Med/Surg Nursing, including 3 years recent clinical experience in Oncology.

  • Current CA RN license

  • Current BLS certification

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program

  • National Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN)

Special Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of oncology nursing principles.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with others.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with administrative and/or educational nursing role highly desired

  • BSN preferred.

Pay Range

$47.82 - $70.15 /hour
