In this role you will leverage both your engineering and machine learning background to help develop generative AI for shopping. On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Design and implementation of a stable and efficient training infrastructure for pre-training, fine tuning and RLHF that scale to a large model size and hardware such as GPU resources.

  • Collaborate with other talented applied scientists and engineers to improve training infrastructure that accelerates innovation.

  • Quickly learn cutting-edge technologies and algorithms in the field of Generative AI.

  • Support training on other platforms, such as AWS Trainium.

  • Improve the training efficiency from different layer, such as framework and GPU optimization

Palo Alto, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • Experience in developing machine learning pipelines, developing large language model or natural language understanding models.

  • Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or AI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Any experience with the following will be a big plus:

  • -Experience with CUDA

  • -Experience with Pytorch or Tensorflow

  • -Experience with distributed training

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
