We are recruiting a Labor Relations Lead for France positioned in the France HR Consulting team. The HR Consulting team in France is part of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) HR Consulting organization and is an exciting and evolving team of HR professionals who support managers and employees with a myriad of topics and programs relating to the experience and employee relations management of employees and managers.

You will be the the leader of social relations in France in an environment comprised of a number of Work’s Councils and unions and also to contribute to the coordination of social relations in Europe. This role holds the presidency of the largest Work’s Council in our France subsidiary.

Responsibilities

This individual contributor role is responsible for the labour relations engagement in France and will partner closely with the country HR leadership team, and business leadership, to ensure a healthy and productive labour relations environment to enable Microsoft's mission of empowering every organisation and individual on the planet, to achieve more.

Serve as the primary contact, alongside a second Labour Relations Consultant, for Work’s Council and union negotiations within France

  • President of the largest of 4 Work’s Councils

  • Partners with internal and external legal counsel, HR stakeholders and the France and global business leadership teams to manage and resolve technology enquires / launches requiring collective engagement.

  • Assists/Partners with HR and change leaders to implement organisational changes that require labour relations engagements, especially during fiscal year changes

  • Ensures appropriate control, compliance and tracking of open labour relations issues in partnership with internal and external legal counsel and HR stakeholders at the country level

  • Builds and manages constructive, effective, relationships with employee representatives and provides insights to business leaders and HR partners on the relationships between the company and employee representatives

  • Analyse labour trends, prepare negotiation strategies, and lead collective bargaining agreements.

  • Partners with internal and external legal counsel and HR stakeholders to surface trends and themes in labour relations for France.

  • Owns and interprets the CBA(s) (Collective Bargaining Agreements) and provides consultation and guidance to partners when required

  • Informs and consults on timelines for people and policy changes that require labour relations engagements and leads the labour relations engagements at the country-level, partnering with business leadership when appropriate

Labour Relations Consulting

  • Leads France in collaboration with peer disciplines or professions (e.g. Talent Management, Learning and Development), as well as global Human Resource partners, to contribute insights, leverage resources, and provide consultation and support for the leadership of labour relations in the geo

  • Consults with peers across the globe who support Labor Relations in other countries, and proactively identifies opportunities to scale approaches to Labor Relations beyond their country responsibility

HR Project and Programs

  • Partners with peer disciplines (Centres of Excellence and regional HR leadership etc) on connecting scalable Human Resources programs and processes with the sentiment from labour relations groups to ensure productive ongoing relationships and partnership.

  • Leverages, aligns, and integrates communication strategies and messages from the Centre of Excellence (CoE); to regional labour relations teams to gain perspectives and buy-in on programs and processes from employee representatives where required (e.g. hybrid dashboards etc)

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with Human Resources or Business programs/processes

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree AND experience with Human Resources or Business programs/processes.

  • Extensive experience with French Work’s Councils and unions / collective bargaining.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Depth of experience within Employee Relations.

  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)/Society for Human Resources Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
