Mid-sized company that does most of their work with federal government agencies is looking for an experienced, insightful, and hands-on Director of Accounting and Finance at their Somerset County location. Candidate will lead the company’s financial operations and help grow our federal government contracting business. In this role, you will be responsible for the finance and accounting functions for the organization, including payroll and benefits administration, forecasting and budgeting, cash management, financial reporting, tax and audit support, investment planning and analysis, and maintaining effective controls to ensure compliance with applicable legal, GAAP and DCAA accounting regulations and standards. In addition, you will oversee our outsourced accounting services provider tasked with handling our accounts receivables, payables, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger. The ideal candidate is a leader with sound judgement, keen business acumen with a proven track record of applying the latest in accounting technology and integrated ERP tools to maximize operational efficiency across an organization. Successful candidate MUST have strong experience and familiarity with working with government contracting agencies and familiarity with DCAA, FAR and CAS guidelines and requirements. CPA designation is highly preferred but not required. Any ERP implementation experience would be a plus as well. 15+ years of experience in a federal government contracting environment; 10+ years of experience in DCAA-compliant cost accounting and incurred-cost compliance Candidate must have the ability to go deep into the details as warranted. Both a planner and a "doer" type mentality required here. The company offers a competitive compensation package in the $200-250k range plus bonus depending on experience and including good benefits. The company works on a hybrid schedule 2-3 days a week in the office depending on business need. Very nice office location and environment in North / Central NJ as well.
