Overview

Responsible for assisting in maintaining, repairing, and keeping in consistent working order all assigned equipment.  Assist with the maintaining of the established preventive maintenance program for all equipment on inventory.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in coordinating, scheduling and completing the projected maintenance, repair and servicing of assigned equipment.
  • Performs and assists in formulating a preventive maintenance, basic repairs, general servicing and assist in maintain and cleaning equipment on a daily basis.
  • Operates assigned motorized equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels of petroleum products, replacement parts, and shop supplies
  • Teach, train and instruct others in the department in those phases or steps where they may be lacking the knowledge or skills to complete.
  • Assist in mowing, weed trimming, edging, and many other groundskeeping duties as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required, 6 months of experience related to small engine repair or Mechanic's Assistant is preferred.  Must have previous experience operating golf course maintenance related equipment.  Previous experience as a Groundskeeper would be beneficial.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Driver's License and good driving record -- one or less moving violation within a 12 month period.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The associate frequently is required to s oop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Lift 

or maneuver at least sixty (60) pounds, walk or stand for 75% of the assign shift.  The associate is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.  The associate is request to see and differentiate between colors (blue, green, red, yellow, purple, and brown).
