Comcast Manager Financial Planning & Analysis in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

Manages daily activities of the Financial Planning & Analysis team ensuring efficient production of accurate financial performance analysis, reporting, and planning. Identifies internal pressures that may impact financial performance and generates various analysis/financial models to support business decision making. Grasps a solid understanding of the business and willingly shares financial expertise and experience with others. Responds to internal and external customer inquiries. Encourages others in the team to strive for high standards of performance. Demonstrates a “can-do” spirit, a sense of optimism, ownership and commitment to one’s work. Builds collaborative relationships with people in finance and in the business.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Presents financial information to management to assist in the business decision-making process.

  • Compares financial results to planned or forecasted/budgeted results and recommend future actions.

  • Leads weekly revenue pacing reviews with Sr. Leadership and proactively makes suggestions on projected results based on internal metrics and external factors.

  • Acts as subject matter expert on organization’s P&L performance and applies financial and business knowledge to mitigate issues as well as identify when to escalate.

  • Assists with special projects, which typically will include financial analysis, research of business issues, and financial modeling to provide management with financial data and business advice to support decision-making.

Financial Planning

  • Manages consolidated monthly P&L forecast review and submission process.

  • Leads the development and effective utilization of financial models/analysis and operational procedures to foster process improvements.

  • Coordinates the development of Effectv Revenue and Expense reporting.

  • Evaluates financial risks and opportunities by creating and reviewing operational and financial metrics.

  • Exercises independent judgment on forecast submissions and variance explanations obtained from business partners.

  • Assists in the deployment of Effectv’s Long-Range Planning and Budgeting cycle.

Other

  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

  • Works cross-functionally across all Comcast Advertising teams.

  • Identifies required finance capabilities and skill gaps within the team.

  • Seeks opportunities to acquire new financial knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures as necessary.

  • Participates in various corporate-wide initiatives, such as financial systems development.
