U-Haul Human Resources Administrative Assistant in Phoenix, Arizona

The Administrative Assistant will provide support in a variety of functions to the Human Resources Compensation & Leave Administration Team. The ideal candidate has an enthusiastic, self-motivated personality with excellent analytical, logic, and reasoning skills. A career mind-set, an eagerness to learn and the ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment is expected. Ideal candidates should be looking to use this position to gain knowledge to advance towards new opportunities on the team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist Team members daily with time off-related concerns, pay-related concerns, and/or policy related concerns
Support the current day-to-day workflow, general organization, and administrative duties
Track incoming and outgoing department calls
Process sick time and vacation payouts as requested
Prepare and notify field management of upcoming minimum wage updates
Prepare and notify field management of upcoming mandated paid sick leaves
Prepare Family & Medical Leave mailing packets as needed
Assist with reporting functions for the Compensation and Leave team
Record and prepare files for scanning as needed
Maintain an organized filing system for both physical and electronic files
Must be able to respond appropriately to inquiries, and resolve problems as they arise
Work closely with various departments to improve operational efficiency
Performs research activities and other tasks as necessary
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products
Other general administrative duties may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
Must be a team player and self-motivated
Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple projects
Strong organization skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience in customer service
Must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Technical savvy a plus
Workday knowledge a plus
