Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for procurement? As our Principal Procurement Specialist you will pay a key role in ensuring a seamless flow of raw materials to support the manufacturing process in the most efficient and cost-effective strategic manner. This role offers the opportunity to manage assigned suppliers and commodities in support of both tactical and strategic initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle complex procurement challenges and drive continuous improvement.

This is an onsite role in Phoenix, AZ and may travel up to 20% of the time to supplier locations. This role will not offer relocation.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the procurement of complex components and commodities critical for production.

  • Manage product lines and supplier relationships, ensuring seamless alignment with production schedules.

  • Issue and maintain purchase orders, anticipating and mitigating delivery delays.

  • Resolve part shortages and expedite orders, including on-site visits to suppliers as needed.

  • Participate in strategic supply chain projects, driving site and enterprise goals.

  • Collect comprehensive metrics and report findings to stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular meetings, audits, and performance reviews.

  • Collaborate with Engineering to support design changes, new product introductions, and obsolescence management.

  • Contribute to the development of commodity strategy roadmaps and process improvements.

  • Evaluate and analyze supplier quotations and services to determine most desirable supplier.

  • Adhere to all corporate rules and codes of conduct.

What You Will Learn:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Experience a manufacturing environment, dealing with direct production materials.

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents such as drawings, blueprints, and BOMs.

  • Experience with military procurement

  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal abilities to effectively represent the organization and collaborate with internal and external partners.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to supplier locations.

  • Proficiency in SAP.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean / Six Sigma expertise.

  • Aerospace industry experience.

  • Experience with diverse commodities, including electronics, electrical products, machining, and fabrication.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
