Description
Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a detail-oriented Sr. Tax Accountant support our CPA client in Phoenix on an interim basis. The qualified individual will be responsible for tax return preparation, consultation, and planning for individuals, small businesses, corporations, and non-profit entities. Proficiency in utilizing Pro-Systems is a bonus!
Responsibilities:
• Preparing federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and non-profit entities.
• Ensuring clients comply with all tax regulations by researching and applying the current tax laws and codes.
• Assisting with tax audits and tax returns.
• Utilizing Pro-System for tax accounting to carry out various tax operations efficiently.
• Advising clients on the tax preparation process and issues that may affect tax returns.
• Uncovering potential deductions and credits.
• Advising against potential tax liabilities.
• Establishing and maintaining a compliance calendar.
• Communicating with clients to obtain missing information or answer queries.
• Collaborating with the team for special tax-related projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a public accounting setting.
• Exceptional knowledge of Pro-Systems or similar tax systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
• Excellent understanding of business and tax planning.
• Demonstrated consultative and advisory skills.
• Good communication skills for articulating tax strategies to clients.
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work beyond normal working hours during tax seasons.
• Available to go on-site in Phoenix
