EJ Receiving and Inventory Clerk in Phoenix, New York

EJ has an immediate opening for a Receiving and Inventory Clerk (Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 p.m.) salary - $16.75 to $20.25 per hour depending on experience. Location: Phoenix, NY SUMMARY Responsible for all receiving transactions for fabricated products manufacturing operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures. * Performs accurate and timely receiving transactions in computer system for production materials, consignment materials, equipment, MRO supplies, contractor services and other items as needed. * Physically count, visually inspect and perform other quality inspections as directed, on received items. Match up physical items with purchase order and packing slip, verify match or initiate corrective action if discrepancy exists. Maintain files with purchase order and packing slip documents. * Reject damaged goods or materials and coordinate with shipper to adjust damages and shortages. * Route incoming goods to the proper departments. * Perform periodic inventory counts on the shop floor, storage areas and yard as directed. Maintain spreadsheets and other records as needed. Ensure proper First in – First out usage of materials by communication, signage and other markings or color codes as needed. * Assist Scheduler and Buyer as needed. * Back-up Production Clerk duties as needed * Perform all work in adherence to safety and environmental procedures. Attend safety training and meetings as well as participate in plant safety programs * Perform other duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associates degree in Accounting; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of metals, hardware items and threaded fasteners desired. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Internet navigation, email and ability to learn department specific software programs.
