Job Summary
The Quality Tech is responsible for inspecting materials and products for conformance to specifications using fixed or present measuring instruments under immediate supervision. This role ensures KPS Global is able to meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards and satisfy customer requirements.
Major Responsibilities
Performing duties in accordance with current Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and KPS Global Code of Conduct requirements
Auditing and inspecting raw materials, component parts, sub-assemblies, and finished goods to ensure conformance to specifications
Completing and maintaining all associated electronic processes and paperwork including bar-coding, checklists, stamping, blueprints, shipping/receiving documents, accessory lists, and scanning of materials
Maintaining departmental housekeeping and 5S standards
Adapting and/or calibrating equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to established guidelines, typically under the guidance of an outside vendor
Create non-conformance reports for material not meeting the required specifications, ensure proper identification and segregation, communicate non-conformance to production for material disposition, and log issues in database
Support production personnel on quality training for product specifications and criteria
Conduct process compliance audits per established audit protocols
Required Skills
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of the work day
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs alone and over 50 lbs with assistance
Must be able to climb and balance
Must be able to use hands to reach, handle, and/or feel
Must have manual dexterity in hands for tool usage
Must be able to visually inspect products
Must be able to work in a non-temperature controlled environment
Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment
10% travel required
Required Experience
High School Diploma
1 – 3 years of related experience
Ability to read and interpret blue prints
Intermediate math and reading comprehension skills
Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, caliper, depth gauges, go-no go gauges, scales. (Hi-pot preferred)
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English and Spanish a plus
Basic time-management skills
Ability to demonstrate safe and effective utilization of all required equipment
