Specialized Staffing and Industry Recruiters Accounting and Payroll Assistant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

SUMMARY This is a billing and payroll position at a chemical manufacturing facility on Neville Island, Pittsburgh, PA. The company is looking for someone with experience in accounting, OR a recent graduate with a degree in accounting or concentration in accounting. A lot of the work in the department is done in Excel, with journal entries into accounting software. You will need good Excel skills. Strong supportive team environment that is willing to provide training. 

This position is open due to an increase in workload in the department. It is temporary and expected to last a minimum of three months. 20-24 hours per week. The work schedule is daylight Monday - Friday. All work is done onsite, but there is some flexibility to set your own schedule based upon your situation, except for Monday which is a required day.

POSITION Responsibilities include: •    Accounts Receivable: Posting cash to customer accounts. Following up on past due invoices •    Payroll: Entering / posting timecards  •    Inventory: Assisting with physical inventory / cycle counts and tracking •    Documentation: Writing up processes for journal entries for the department 

REQUIREMENTS •    A good understanding of credits and debits in accounting  •    Microsoft Excel skills: Ability to create and edit a spreadsheet and an understanding of pivot tables •    Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen
