Key Responsibilities:
Financial Mastery: Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in line with generally accepted accounting principles.
Insightful Reporting: Develop comprehensive financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
Advanced Analysis: Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of reported data.
Leadership Role: Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering growth and excellence.
Data Interpretation: Analyze intricate financial data, extracting and defining relevant information to interpret past performance and project future financial probabilities.
Decision Support: Interpret financial transactions and events to aid users in making informed economic or business decisions.
Cost Studies: Plan and conduct detailed studies to determine the cost of business activities, recommending budget adjustments and cost improvement measures.
Budget Coordination: Oversee and assist in coordinating the UPMC system-wide budgeting process.

Bachelor's degree in finance or related business field required.
Minimum of five years of related work experience required
or A Master's degree or CPA license and four years of experience will also be considered
or High School Diploma/GED and seven years of related work experience.
Demonstrated expertise in forecasting financial operations and budgeting experience required.
CPA/MBA preferred.
Experience in the health care industry preferred.
Prior experience leading/supervising staff preferred.
Ability to interact effectively with executives and business unit management required.
Excellent oral and written communications and time management skills are required.
Strong analytical ability and knowledge of accounting and financial reporting matters required.
Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency required.
PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
Knowledge of system operations preferred.
