SUMMARY
The Laboratory of Dr. Angela M Gronenborn in the Department of Structural Biology is recruiting newly graduated, innovative, highly independent, and motivated candidates with structural biology and NMR backgrounds to fill in a Postdoctoral Position. The Gronenborn lab primarily studies HIV and HiV-cellular protein interactions, eye lens crystallins, and regulatory proteins. The candidate will 1) Determine cutting-edge NMR studies to determine the structural basis function in these systems.
The Department of Structural Biology in which Dr. Gronenborn's lab is located is one of several Fundamental Science Departments within the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. The Department was established in 2005 is focused on applying NMR, X-ray crystallography, Cryo-electron microscopy, as well as other accompanying biophysical tools, for understanding structure-function relationships of biological macromolecules. The Department has 9 full-time faculty with research interests that range from the structural biology of AIDS related proteins, disease related protein aggregates, such cataracts, human viruses, DNA replication machinery, bacterial chemotaxis, ion channels, G-protein coupled receptors, and receptor signaling complexes.
Applicants should have an excellent track-record with peer-reviewed publications, and possess a PhD or equivalent degree in a biomedical or related field. Candidates with relevant experiences are preferred. Please submit CV and names of three references via University of Pittsburgh Talent Center.
