Sustainability Systems Product Manager - JR2421784
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Sustainability System Product Manager, you will help drive the successful delivery, operation and maintenance of the information technology applications used to record, calculate, and analyze information to help PPG meet its obligations for the internal and external reporting of its sustainability data. You will report to the Global Manager, Operational Sustainability and help identify opportunities for improvement in processes, applications and design to assure a robust and sustainable reporting system.
Key Responsibilities * Manage end-to-end life cycle of sustainability suite of products and applications. This includes the maintenance, support and enhancements of existing sustainability applications. * Support the function or corporate strategy by obtaining information and identifying key issues and improvements relevant to achieving a long-range sustainability goals. Working with appropriate PPG stakeholders and the PPG IT function to understand the objectives and goals and maintain a sustainability IT system roadmap that would deliver. * Support and monitor all system testing, regression testing and verifying the system is meeting quality expectations. * Be an expert on both the available functionality of the systems and the intended user's use of the systems in order to understand not only how the systems work, but how to optimize the way the users will work with the systems in order to simplify process and drive adoption/usage as much as possible. * Be a subject matter expert on the data: master data sources, quality of the data, required integrations, automated vs. manually managed data, use of the data and ongoing management of the data as it pertains to the system(s). * Manage and communicate all updates to the system, mitigate business risks of updates and adjustments to the necessary stakeholders. * Support the development of communication, change management and training content related to the sustainability systems. * Demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in developing effective working relationships across a diverse team of functional, technical, and business partners. * Engage in communications with external entities within defined boundaries; Support the successful management of sustainability data system vendor relationships. * Provide technical leadership on one or more projects and give direction to both PPG employees and contract resources.
Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in business management, information technology or a related discipline. * 8+ years of experience working in the IT field, with database management familiarity. * Strong project management and familiarity presenting work to business leaders. * Good working knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma * Adept in problem-solving with the ability to develop innovative and practical solutions. * Strong communication and organization skills; Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences
