Boeing AvionX is looking for Systems Engineering Engineer to join our team in Plano, TX.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate and mid-level engineers.

Boeing AvionX develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionics functions. We have set our sights high – to design, develop, and manufacture the most technically advanced and reliable avionic components in the world. We are innovating and developing new products to address the future of the urban air mobility as well as our next generation of commercial, tactical, and trainer aircraft markets.

This position is for our internally developed cabin systems avionics products. Exceptional candidates will enjoy technical challenges and personal growth as a systems engineer, collaborating with cross functional teams of engineers world‐wide to develop new and cutting-edge avionics systems and components.

In your role as a Cabins Systems & Displays system engineer, you will collaborate with Boeing aircraft developers to evaluate operational needs and define avionics' LRU requirements. You will work within and integrated product team consisting of Boeing hardware and software design teams to develop, certify and field new cabin system avionics products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform system engineering responsibilities specifically for Box level/ LRU level product development over the entire development lifecycle: product concept development, requirements definition, design, testing, certification, production, product delivery and to post-delivery support

  • Interface with program team members to perform the systems engineering, integration, and test throughout the product development lifecycle

  • Collaborate with airplane customers to define and coordinate avionics performance requirements and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces

  • Perform requirements development and decomposition to hardware and software requirements

  • Perform verification and validation activities to include requirements validation, and the development of verification test methods, detailed test procedures, and test reports

  • Support the system certification process and interact with regulatory representatives

  • Perform technical risk management

  • Conduct program technical design reviews

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Plano, TX location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship . An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience working in design, development, integration, verification, validation, and certification of hardware line replaceable units (LRUs)

  • 3+ years of experience in system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience defining and developing LRU and lower-level requirements and interfaces across the lifecycle of a product development process

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • 2+ years of experience developing and decomposing system level requirements into detailed component level requirements to include LRU to component level requirements

  • Engineering / Technical degree in a relevant field. (e.g., Electrical/electronic engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, system test)

  • 3+ years of experience working in hardware & software design, development, or systems engineering of avionics system/products

  • 3+ years of experience coordinating with multiple teams or organizing large technical design reviews or technical

  • Practical experience in the design and development of avionics LRU

  • Experience in program/project management

  • Certification experience (Commercial and/or DoD)

  • Experience with DO-254/DO-178/ARP-4754a

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate: $87,550 - $118,450

Summary pay range for associate: $104,550 - $141,450
