This position is based in Plano, TX with a hybrid mix of some in-office time and some remote work.

Who we’re looking for:

The TFS Enterprise Tools team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as a Sr. Lead Engineer, DevOps , to help our growing Enterprise tools needs.

The main responsibility of the Sr. Lead Engineer, DevOps is to design, build and implement scalable solutions across various TFS platforms and technology stacks. The ideal candidate will be tasked with working with product owners to understand business requirements, with architecture to clearly articulate architectural direction, and with software engineers to design and produce comprehensive functional/technical code for platforms and applications. Proficiency in Cloud platform configuration and customization along with API development is essential. Candidates with a solid background in building tools that support developer experiences and platform engineering teams will be highly regarded.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work closely with team members and business partners to identify and prioritize key requirements and drive quality centered solutions.

  • Develop and implement sophisticated solutions using DevOps principals and software engineering disciplines.

  • Create clear, compelling visualizations to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Effectively and efficiently transition solutions from development to production within the organization’s existing cloud ecosystem.

  • Participate actively in project planning and prioritization sessions to ensure initiatives align with business goals.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and tools and integrate this knowledge to improve methodologies and solutions.

What you bring:

Proven hands-on CI/CD tools experience :

  • Mastery of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, including their configuration, customization, and integration capabilities.

  • Proficiency in setting up complex CI/CD pipelines, incorporating automated testing, code quality checks, deployment strategies, and monitoring.

  • Proficiency with GitHub version control including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, branch protection, access controls and repository controls for CI/CD integration.

  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy for automation and customization of CI/CD workflows.

  • Experience in seamlessly integrating containerization into CI/CD pipelines, including Docker image building, registry management, and container orchestration.

Demonstrated professional experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :

  • Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, AWS CodeDeploy for provisioning and managing CI/CD infrastructure.

  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable and resilient CI/CD infrastructure using IaC best practices.

  • Experience with containers orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, or Amazon ECS, AWS Fargate, including cluster setup, configuration, and management.

Proven experience in a technical leadership role :

  • Understanding of security best practices in CI/CD, including secure configuration of CI/CD tools, integration of security scanning tools, and adherence to compliance requirements.

  • Ability to identify and mitigate security risks in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of software delivery processes.

  • Ability to lead a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support in CI/CD tooling and practices.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, aligning CI/CD efforts with organizational goals and priorities.

  • Effectively convey technical concepts, updates, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation in CI/CD practices and tooling.

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing security measures and ensuring compliance in CI/CD practices.

  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation and code functionality to facilitate knowledge sharing.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, effectively navigating and prioritizing complex cross-departmental projects to drive impactful change.

  • Excellent communication skills and meeting etiquette, ability to participate in meetings and lead technical working sessions effectively and professionally
