Guardian Life Program Manager, Transformation and Reengineering in Plano, Texas

Reporting to the Head of Transformation and Reengineering, Group Claims, the Program Manager, Transformation and Reengineering will play a key role in leading the establishment and execution of multi-year critical initiatives that support Claims objectives. You will be responsible for directing multiple programs and/or initiatives and will play an instrumental part in inspiring change within and across operating units by linking Claims strategies with functional plans. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting organizational capabilities in problem solving and continuous improvement through thought leadership (automation, outsourcing, optimization etc.), knowledge sharing and coaching. You will partner with the Group Claims Business Analyst Team to develop project plans, build business requirements, and drive successful outcomes on those initiatives.

You will

  • Lead initiatives in support of the Claims strategic goals, including comprehensive process reengineering, that span functional areas and include process mapping, operating model development, automation, outsourcing, and overall optimization.

  • Plan, facilitate, and lead process and strategy development, problem solving, workshops, etc.

  • Participate and potentially own the development of Claims strategy and functional roadmaps that deliver on our target letter goals.

  • Work with and influence leaders across business and technology teams on solution development, required capability identification, and investment prioritization.

  • Work with project teams to define business requirements and partner with various departments, such as Claims, IT and Product, to ensure the requirements meet internal and external needs and expectations.

  • Prepare and deliver clear communications to Claims and Group leadership teams on initiative status, strategy impact and overall delivery timelines.

  • Champion and assist with continuous improvement initiatives across Group Claims.

  • Provide change management support by assisting our Group Claims Change Management Leader to optimally lead teams through change.

You have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong Analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification desired.

  • 5+ years of experience in managing cross-functional initiatives and/or programs with significant operational impact.

  • Minimum of 5 years Group insurance experience desired with demonstrated experience in at least two of the core business areas in focus (Continuous Improvement, Process Innovation and Reengineering, or Operations).

  • Creativity and thought leadership, comfortable with discussing and developing innovative solutions and supporting new ways of doing business, versus maintaining status quo.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships, influence others and work effectively in a matrixed organization.

  • Possess proven and effective leadership qualities and skills, with the ability to express and defend ideas and concepts.

  • Ability to thrive, operate and influence in an environment of change.

  • Proficient knowledge of Project Management and Change Management Methodologies.

  • Consistent track record of exceptional performance, having delivered quantifiable impact on company results.

  • Ability to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations.

LOCATION

This is a flexible position with preference given to candidates within commuting proximity to a Guardian office. Will consider remote candidates if experience is aligned and ability to travel to Guardian offices as determined by the People Leader.

Salary Range

$82,660.00 - $135,805.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
