*The Product Electrical Engineer's Mission *is to serve as a technical leader, providing critical electrical engineering expertise throughout the product development lifecycle. This role is instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring product reliability, and optimizing testing and repair processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, oversee testing and engineering personnel, and contribute to the overall success of our emergency power product line.

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Design and Development:

  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide electrical expertise during all phases of product design.
  • Improve product designs by integrating advanced electrical components, improving control systems and communication, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Partner with manufacturers to negotiate design specifications and ensure high-quality production.
  • Conduct research and development to identify emerging trends and technological advancements in portable power solution.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and l ead inbound product testing practices, including acquiring necessary testing equipment.
  • Develop and optimize processes and procedures for identifying, quarantining, and repairing damaged or defective units.
  • Maintain rigorous quality standards to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction

Root Cause Analysis and Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate returned products to determine root causes of issues.
  • Design and implement effective solutions to address product deficiencies and prevent recurrences

Team Leadership and Oversight:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of testing and engineering personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment of goals within the team and across departments.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including support for management, as requested.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in product development or portable power solutions.
  • Strong understanding of lithium battery technologies, power electronics, and circuit design.
  • Experience with R&D, testing protocols, and quality assurance practices.
  • Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
  • Excellent project management and team leadership skills. Previous team lead experience a plus
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Adept at creating digestible reports of technical information
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and certifications (e.g., UL, CE, FCC).

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Regularly handle electrically charged devices, requiring careful attention to safety protocols.
  • Lift and move heavy products and equipment, potentially up to 50lbs unassisted and heavier items with assistance.
  • Stand and move about regularly, as the position may involve significant time spent in a warehouse or engineering shop environment.
  • Maintain focus and attention to detail during testing procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.

Work Environment and Travel Requirements:

  • This position will primarily operate in a warehouse or engineering shop environment, which may expose the individual to varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
