HIGHLIGHTS:

Hourly Rate: $34.16 - $44.06 (depending on experience)

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:

As a Maintenance Machinist, you will provide leadership, project management and training related to physical asset care in manufacturing. You will coordinate, prioritize, and schedule maintenance activities, including evaluating, providing advice and oversee repair part inventories. Assess new skills and techniques and incorporate into current job practices if applicable. Analyze, diagnose or troubleshoot machine failures; repair or refurbish all types of physical assets and support equipment in the manufacturing and warehouse locations of Oregon Cutting Systems Group. Participate in asset build projects.

THE DETAILS:

  • Ensure that any manufacturing asset continues to do what its customers want it to do in regard to availability and reliability, quality standards, safety and environmental standards, equipment life and cost control.

  • Contribute knowledge and expertise as a member of a RCM review team whose objective is to determine the maintenance requirements of a specific asset or a discrete part of a process.

  • Offer expertise and make decisions concerning proactive maintenance techniques to include preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Record and assess data to support proactive maintenance practices

  • Address asset failures by providing expertise in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and the repair or refurbishment of key machinery and its support equipment.

  • Employ the use of complex techniques and tools of on-condition tasks when detecting potential failures.

  • Evaluate and learn new skills and techniques to keep updated with changing technologies and incorporate them into current job practices.

  • Provide advice in regard to levels of purchased and manufactured parts to insure cost, quality and delivery targets are met in concurrence with customer and company needs.

  • Have knowledge of available resources such as supply houses or service vendors and the means in which to contact them.

  • Coordinate closely with vendors in the repair of equipment, the procurement of parts and service.

  • Work with purchasing and the Technical Support Specialist as a consultant and customer when ordering parts, materials or service insuring correct or appropriate parts and value.

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or GED is required

  • 30 credit hours of Machine Technology courses with a 3.0 or greater GPA or equivalent experience.

  • 5,000 hours knowledge/training equal to the Oregon Cutting Systems Technical Apprenticeship program is required, plus 8,000 hours of experience refurbishing, repairing and troubleshooting manufacturing assets.

  • Three years knowledge and experience working with various hands on maintenance of manufacturing equipment and manufacturing parts to three place decimals.

  • Computer keyboarding, intro to internet, intro to windows, and math basics.

  • Competent with electric and gas welding, brazing, and soldering of a variety of raw materials including but not limited to steel, stainless steel, aluminum and plastic.

  • Demonstrated leadership, project management and communication skills is needed for this position.
