Description
Sue Sumrell is recruiting for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client in the environmental and sustainability industry. This role is located on the East side of the Portland metro area. As a Staff Accountant, you will be involved in various accounting functions such as recording journal entries, account analysis and review, assisting with yearly budget preparation, and supporting year-end closing audit preparations.
Responsibilities include:
• Prepare and review account analysis on accounts.
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts.
• Prepare monthly journal entries.
• Review and process fixed asset activities.
• Assist with property tax filing.
• Contribute to the annual budget preparation process.
• Use professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook and have an intermediate Excel skill level. Experience working with Netsuite is a plus.
• Follow GAAP Accounting principles.

Requirements
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 1-2 years' experience as a Staff Accountant.
• Familiarity with GAAP Accounting principles.
• Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably NetSuite.
• Expertise in maintaining General Ledger and Journal Entries.
• Experience in performing Month End Close activities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
