Naval Education and Training Command TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (SERE) in Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Maine

Summary You will serve as a Training Instructor (SERE) in the Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) Detachment Kittery, ME,of CENSECFOR DET BRUNSWICK. Responsibilities You will instruct level ā€œCā€ Code of Conduct training via lectures and practical applications in classroom, field, and laboratory settings in accordance with governing directives to Department of Defense high-risk-of-capture personnel. You will present approved standardized lectures on all aspects of SERE in a classroom environment. You will present and supervises survival and evasion lectures and practical application instruction and exercises under field conditions at the remote training site. You will debrief students in all aspects of course content and learning objectives and personal performance. You will conduct course maintenance, standardization and curriculum revision to include infrequent travel to related conferences and of DoD training sites. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as an 805A/ Basic Instructor or equivalent with expert skills in classroom, field, laboratory training, management and delivery to apply the principles and techniques of education to help students acquire skills and knowledge. 2) Ability to supervise, motivate, train and work effectively with staff and students who have a variety of backgrounds and training. 3) Skilled in oral and written communication on a professional level in order to effectively convey ideas in a clear, concrete, and concise manner. 4) Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of Code of Conduct/SERE/Personnel Recovery (PR) training programs. 5) Must be able to identify problems and choose a course of action that balances the interest of the mission. 6) Ability to understand and interpret technical material, rules, regulations and instructions. Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
