Job Description
Stream Manager Engineering as part of the Operations stream leads the engineering NPI and SPR teams to achieve business goals from early product development to product sustaining.
What will you do:
Supports stream Operations teams in its strategy and work
Creates and leads local engineering strategy, and translates the strategy into operational plans
Ensures and encourages close collaboration with the other Thermo Fisher sites for efficient cross-site collaboration
Develops and cultivates close relationships within Operations Engineering and with Manufacturing, GTS, PLM, Quality and Regulatory, Logistics, Purchasing, and R&D to adequately staff projects and resolve conflicts.
Ensures activities are carried out according to the principle of “Customer focus in all that we do”
Facilitates and may lead multi-functional improvements and other Operations projects from inception to completion
Responsible for Engineering processes
Creates and drives Engineering department budget
Drives continuous improvement by using PPI to improve processes and solve problems
Ensures proper staffing of engineers to provide adequate support and improvements
Guides team members’ professional development by goal setting and providing challenges for further growth
Ensures proper engineering competencies development (education, training, and collaboration).
Ensures the development of sustainable products according to the latest quality standards and PMP
Ensures that activities are carried out according to the principles of the 4i values
Develop a team engagement strategy
Drives all activities according to Sarbanes-Oxley directives, rules and procedures
Adhere to work safety, fire safety, hygiene of work, and other regulatory standards. Clean and maintained work area and consigned tools
Requirements:
University degree in a technical field, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills
Willingness to work in a high-tech industry manufacturing environment
Typically requires proven experience in a high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturing
Typically requires 5 years of management experience (people and/or projects) in a manufacturing, technical support, or service management role in a high-tech industry environment
Proven experience participating in or leading cross-site and multi-functional project
Demonstrated ability to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining the collaboration of multi-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships.
Must have the ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required
Fluent in English and local language (verbal and in writing)
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience in leading and developing technical teams including teams of individual contributors and managers
Negotiating skills in cross-site and multi-functional multicultural environments
Must be able to plan, resolve, and make decisions on issues that involve gaining collaboration of multiple multi-functional departments and sites without damaging relationships
Knowledge and experience with systematic Problem solving and analytical and project management tools.
Demonstrated basic critical thinking and road mapping capability
Requires experience with the creation of departmental budgets and business case
Proven experience with effective managing of blocking issues and high-pressure situations
