AQUAVEO LLC Hydroinformatics Engineer in PROVO, Utah
Aquaveo LLC, located in Provo, UT, seeks a Hydroinformatics Engineer.
DUTIES:
Develop and assist in deploying geospatial hydroinformatics and environmental web applications using open-source Python-based frameworks such as the Tethys Platform and web-based tools on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) to enable the visualization of global hydrologic models. Conduct hydroinformatics data visualization, analysis, and storage of global hydrologic models, such as streamflow forecasts using geospatial hydroinformatics tools like QGIS/ArcGIS and PostGIS. Support the integration of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards (e.g., WMS,WFS, WCS) within geospatial and environmental web applications using open-source servers such as GeoServer and THREDDS to facilitate data sharing and visualization of geospatial datasets. Coordinate and communicate with clients on the use and development of geospatial web applications, integrating open-source servers and standards to improve data discovery, visualization, and analysis.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or a related degree. Foreign equivalent degree accepted. Demonstratable ability to coordinate and communicate with clients on the development, requirements, and use of geospatial web applications, and integration of open-source servers and standards to improve data discovery, visualization, and analysis. Demonstratable knowledge of geospatial hydroinformatics and environmental web applications development using open-source Python-based frameworks and deploying web-based tools on cloud platforms. Demonstratable knowledge of geospatial hydroinformatics geospatial tools such as QGIS/ArcGIS and PostGIS for data visualization, analysis, and storage of global hydrologic models. Demonstratable knowledge of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) (e.g., WMS, WFS, WCS) for data visualization, and the use of open-source servers such as GeoServer and THREDDS for data sharing of geospatial datasets.
