This role in summary

Experience - 13+ Years

Role - The Manager for HMI (human-machine interfaces) Mechanics Engineering position is responsible for leading a team of mechanical/mechatronic engineers to deliver project execution, knowledge creation and capture, technical mentorship, and consistent engineering practices. This professional is also expected to drive innovation and develop technologies within the HMI Mechanical Structures and mechatronics space.

High quality demonstrated experience and Knowledge in Mechanical design, exceptional systems thinker. Excellent developer of technical talent. Proven Development and Execution Experience, Lean Product Development. Proven System Integration capability. Project Management and an outstanding influencer.

This team leader will be responsible for leading a cross-cultural group of more than 20 people, including mechanical engineers and CAD drafters with the global responsibility of delivering HMI assets for cross category platforms and cross region for home appliance products.

Your responsibilities will include

Planning

  • Work with the Architecture leaders, Subsystems, Verification and Validation (V&V), Planning and Solution Architects to understand the Hardware needs

  • Future Project Plan (Component roadmaps) finalization which includes a plan to support the delivery with the right trade-offs.

  • Budget and resource plans aligned with cross-functional teams.

  • Work with Architecture Leaders to align Quality and Cost targets for the year.

  • Work with Human Resources to plan actions for delivering people excellence metrics.

Execution

  • Delivery of projects per commitments to meet Cost, Quality and Timing Targets

  • Work with cross-functional teams to create and maintain the strategy and roadmaps for new technologies, including business cases and Scalability analysis of an innovation / new concept across product category

  • Be able to connect with suppliers for technical and strategic reviews and run benchmark analysis for industry needs and trends

  • Support the Technical Design Reviews to ensure the projects are delivered as per architecture, including DFMEA reviews, Tolerance stack up analysis, SBD & DFx reports and other best practices

  • Maintenance of Development tools. Connect and lead the SME (Subject Matter Expert) community and ensure training materials, licenses and needs are well identified and with defined action plans

  • Change management is in place to manage the changes to the project.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.

  • English fluence

  • 13+ years of experience in the area, being:

  • 3+ years of experience managing large teams

  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership in development, testing and implementation of large scale, complex technology projects or equivalent

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Experience with industry standards (UL, IEC, etc) and development tools, ideally Creo.

  • Able to effectively understand and improve business processes, specifically on the engineering development cycle.

  • Experience designing high-volume products dealing with contract manufacturers.

  • Able to work with both Global and regional Groups - influencing positively the organization in all directions (both Vertical and Horizontal).

  • Good business communication (written/verbal) and Presentation skills.

  • Team player, flexibility in adapting to quickly changing business tasks and project priorities.

Expertise Required

  • Proficient in codes and regulatory requirements.

  • Expert in Product Development process

  • Understanding of mechanical assemblies manufacturing processes.

  • Expert in resource, project planning, capital calender & project management.

  • Proficient in 6 Sigma Opex (GB - certified or BB - Trained / certified) - is a plus

  • Understanding of system engineering - is a plus

  • Knowledge & understanding / of HMI functions and integration of Decoration, Structures, Lighting, LCD display, Touch technology, Knobs - is a plus
