Custom is seeking a highly qualified Technical Project Manager to perform a lead role in managing the planning and delivery of projects across a high education environment. The selected Project Manager must maintain complete control of project scope, schedule, budget, and risk issues. This is a temporary position that will run for about 4 months with the possibility of becoming permanent. It will be onsite Monday through Thursday from 8-4. Hourly wage between $40hr-$60hr. Pay will be based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Define project objectives, scope, and requirements in alignment with strategic goals.

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment. Pertaining to various Cloud Services / Systems and Prod Ops Projects.

  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and requirements.

  • Coordinate project teams, assign tasks, and monitor progress.

  • Manage project budgets and track expenses as needed.

  • Identify project risks and issues and ensure senior leadership is up to date.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Communicate project status and updates to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Evaluate project outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Manage multiple infrastructure projects at a time from beginning to end, taking ownership of the projects, ensuring they are within scope, and providing clear written and verbal updates to clients and upper management.

  • Assist with vendor management.

  • Primary liaison between business units and IT as new products, infrastructure upgrades, or processes are rolled out.

  • Work with internal IT teams to evaluate technology and provide input as to what the University may need.

  • Coordinate with various departments necessary to execute projects to ensure smooth implementation.

  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, interacting directly with business owners over the phone, through email and in person onsite support.

  • Manage resource assignment cross the sundry projects to ensure availability and reasonable time for each resource assigned.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Experience with IT infrastructure project management.

  • PMP strongly preferred.

  • 2-5 years of project management experience.

  • Experience with enterprise data center projects and facilities management.

  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.

  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent understanding of Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
