The City of Radford has an opening for a Senior Accountant to work in our Finance Department. The successful candidate will perform intermediate professional work involving the preparation and/or maintenance of fiscal or related records, general ledger, fixed assets, capital projects and grants; assist with year-end close, external audit preparation and budget development. Work is performed under the direction of the Finance Director. The Senior Accountant will possess a bachelors degree in finance, Accounting or a related field with 3 to 5 years of accounting experience. This position is sedentary work requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Preference given to candidates with prior government experience in Finance or Accounting and those who have worked with Munis. Successful completion of background check and pre-employment testing is a must. Starting Salary range will depend on degree, certifications and experience; excellent benefit package that includes enrollment in VRS and 100% employer paid insurance for employee with no deductible.
