Dignity Health Spiritual Counselor in Redding, California

Overview

For more than 70 years Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State providing acute care and a full range of medical services. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Incumbent coordinates and implements all activities of the spiritual services program and the delivery of spiritual services to patients/families. The Spiritual Counselor acts as liaison with the hospital chaplaincy department and community clergy. This position requires reliable transportation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year hospice experience or a combination of hospice and other related experience

  • Current BLS Certification (Must be thorugh the American Heart Association)

  • Accepting sensitive and flexible towards all faith traditions

  • Ability to operate a computer

  • Valid California driver's license and automobile insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience working with patients/families dealing with life-threatening illness and death

  • Certification by an accredited certifying body such as NACC or ACP is preferred

  • Training in the hospice concept and practices preferred

Pay Range

$29.16 - $42.28 /hour
