Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Developers rely on many components to build software, including open-source packages, container images and infrastructure-as-code configuration files. Keeping those components up to date is paramount to every modern application’s security and imposes a big cost on development teams. Moreover, the evolving environment of cybersecurity is such that new threat vectors are discovered often and require developers to quickly update their code to keep it protected.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join us! To address those issues, we’re building a new service as part of Azure DevOps that can keep applications protected and their dependencies up to date by submitting pull requests. We are results driven and constantly monitor several metrics including merge rates, time to merge and alert coverage.

We are looking for engineers who can help us tackle this challenge. Specifically, we are looking for someone with experience in language platforms like Node.JS, Python, .NET, Java, or containers. Deep understanding of how package managers and containers work, how packages are built in various languages, how runtimes deal with versioned artifacts and how dependencies are handled would be very useful.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.
