Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft One Security Operations Center (SOC) team is a new team under Modern Protection & Security Operation Center. Our vision is to empower every SOC team to protect their entire digital estate and optimize for their unique environment and needs. We build the ultimate unified one-stop-shop solution, making SOC teams effective and efficient. The team delivers optimized protection that meets customers where they are, leading the Extended Detection and Response (XDR) + Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) market.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to drive projects end to end from initial problem scoping to implementation and timely delivery.

  • Design, implement, test, validate, and release software features to production stages with good quality, performance, security, and maintenance.

  • Full stack development, including both frontend and backend components/services.

  • Innovate and improve engineering excellence to enable growth at scale and operate efficiently.

  • Contribute to the service health. Monitor system uptime and alerts, develop, and follow playbook to restore service health.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with one or more cloud services and modern web technologies such as Azure/AWS/.NET/Node.js /React, building RESTful APIs.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
