MICROSOFT CORP Software Quality Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Corporation has the following opportunity: Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software or web developers. Conduct debugging of software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for Microsoft products. May automate scripts and programs for testing. Automate processes and procedures to decrease repetitions in testing, tooling, and procedures. Analyze and write test plans, standards, and procedures. Conduct data analyses and visualize data for insights on software product quality. Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action. Provide input to ensure effective tooling and integrated testing. Telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S. Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, IT, or a related field.
  • Experience: 24 months of software quality assurance experience. 
  • Education or Experience in: SDLC; MIX; NTS; Automated Testing Tools; Wiremock; Nuance Internal Security tool; and Testrail.

Pay Range and Benefits Information: The offered base pay range for this specific position (VNUA0048), in Redmond, WA (but telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.), is $90,000 to $120,000 per year.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.?  

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
