Microsoft Corporation Supply Chain Fulfillment & Analytics Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

This Supply Chain Fulfillment & Analytics Program Manager role presents an exciting opportunity to own a part of the Network Supply Chain fulfillment business within the dynamic and fast paced Microsoft Cloud Manufacturing Operations and Fulfillment CMOF organization. As a part of our Supply Chain Operations Management (SCOM) team, this role will oversee all order management responsibilities, acting as a key point of contact with 3rd party fulfillment partners to drive executional excellence and the achievement of metrics and goals. This critical role will drive stakeholder engagement with cross-functional teams and process improvement initiatives aimed at cycle time reduction, process and tools optimization, agility, predictability, gap analysis and scalability. In addition, this role will require experience with predictive analytics, building core tools & reporting to position the broader team for pro-active actioning of the order book, drive regular rhythm of business reporting to senior leaders on the health of the business, gap analysis & mitigation, and drive optimization initiatives through data visualizations leveraging existing BI or develop new where needed. The ideal candidate will have a analytics background coupled with project management expertise with the ability to lead and influence others within a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for order fulfilment within aggressive cycle-time targets to include internal stakeholder management and cross-team actions needed to ensure adherence to delivery commitments. This responsibility requires high collaboration and oversight of a 3rd party fulfillment partner who inventories, executes, and delivers PO’s on the behalf of Microsoft

  • Act as the face of the SCOM organization to our partners and internal customers to understand customer delivery requirements and develop/implement strategies in support of those business needs. This responsibility also includes a proactive communication of risks and opportunities, to include supply constraints and the management of allocation actions / principles needed to manage gaps and minimize unfavorable business impact

  • Accountable for operational performance metrics to include, but not limited to, Cycle Time, On-Time Delivery, and order book health metrics such as Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) Timeliness to Service Level Agreement (SLA), ETA Change, and PO’s Exceeding Need by Date and ETA. As the owner of Network performance metrics, identify the pareto chart of reason codes for gaps in performance, derive insights from this data to accelerate improvement, and influence others (or lead) actions necessary to drive continuous improvement across the team & for all lines of business

  • Drive optimization in the Purchase Order (PO) approval to dock process, as a key enabler for operational performance and cycle time reduction commitments. This responsibility will require multiple touch points with teams including, but not limited to, Microsoft Trade, Logistics, Procurement Operations, Data Center (DC) Operations, Capacity Planning, Component Material Planning, Sourcing, and Engineering

  • Play a lead role from the business perspective on several in-flight and to-be strategic initiatives aimed at agility, cycle time reduction, new node fulfillment strategies, and supply chain simplification, acting as the business requirement contact for Engineering and other stakeholder teams as needed

  • Drive supply health strategy with key suppliers through weekly engagement and metrics to monitor & ensure supplier delivery performance, on time delivery, lead time and cycle time reductions

  • Responsible for ensuring suppliers receive monthly forecasts and drive material readiness

  • Work with suppliers, sourcing partners, and planning team on buffer and replenishment models

  • Manage supply allocations and prioritization of constrained material

  • Continually assess current state processes, looking for opportunities to drive improvements, including audit findings and implement mitigation strategies with closed-loop validation processes

  • Work with Planning on product transitions and hardware lifecycle management

  • Serve as point of contact for expedites and escalations for supply shortages from various internal teams

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred qualifications

  • 10+ years' supplier management experience in an Electronics, or high-volume supply chain and or applicable Manufacturing / Hardware production environment 

  • Demonstrated communication and synthesizing skills of both written and verbal

  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations, with conflicting priorities and a high degree of change - using business judgment to think strategically and execute tactically with a hands-on spirit

  • Pro-actively resolves upstream dependencies and demonstrates an ability to self-drive resolution to challenges

  • Experience with large scale complex project or program management with proven track record of leading across functions, successfully setting up and executing operational processes, change management, system and tooling optimization with little supervision

  • Ability to partner at senior levels to design and communicate program roadmap and implement solutions from inception to launch

Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
