Position Title: Technical Writer Location: Remote Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. Expected Duration: 9 Month (Potential chances for extension) Job Type: [FULL TIME] (>=40 HRS WEEKLY)], [CONTRACT], [Remote] Pay Range: $50/hr. - $53/hr. Job Description: Title: Programmer/Technical Writer Location: Remote Duration: 9 Months (Potential Chances for extension) Summary: The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files. Job Responsibilities: * Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology * Maintain records and files of work and revisions * Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications * 8-10 years' experience required * Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience * Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills * Ability to read some programming code * Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Candidate Requirements: * Years of Experience Required: 8 overall years of experience in the field. * Degrees or certifications required: A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required to be eligible for this role. * Disqualifiers: Candidates with no technical writing background will not be eligible for the role. * Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain cloud services experience, strong technical communication experience, and instruction manual drafting experience. * Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, and adhering to timelines, as well as quality of outcome - can we give the completed work a developer with 3-5 years' experience and they would be able to autonomously execute the steps successfully. Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience * Minimum 8 years' experience with cloud or other tech. * Minimum 8 years' experience with technical writing/communications * Minimum 8 years' experience with manual/instructional writing.
