True Classic Director, Creative & Content in Remote, California

Position Overview:

Classification: full time, exempt

Location: Remote

Reports to: Head of Marketing

True Classic is seeking an exceptional leader to manage and grow our creative and content initiatives. This role will focus on team building and leadership, managing creative and content strategy, content production, graphic design, copywriting, and content editing. This position reports directly to the Head of Marketing.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Team Leadership: Hire, develop, and motivate both internal team members and external partners (e.g., agencies, consultants, SaaS partners, etc.) to foster a collaborative work environment and deliver exceptional business results. Directly manage the Art Director, Lead Copywriter, Video Director, and Lead Graphic Designer, ensuring they have clear guidance and support to lead their respective areas effectively.

  • Creative & Content Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive creative and content strategy to enhance True Classic's brand presence and engagement across all products, channels, and countries. Establish seasonal creative narratives that continue to evolve True Classic's brand and maintain alignment with overall brand guidelines and directives. Oversee the integration of creative strategy across owned media, paid media, retail, web, and other channels. Brand Guidelines: Ensure adherence to brand guidelines across all creative outputs and evolve these guidelines as necessary to reflect best practices and innovative approaches.Maintain high standards of brand consistency and ensure all creative teams adhere to these guidelines.

  • Creative Metrics: Set and monitor creative goals to ensure alignment with business objectives and return on investment (ROI). Develop and oversee quarterly creative testing plans (with key collaborators) to evaluate the effectiveness of creative strategies and assets.

  • Creative Processes: Streamline the creative handoff flow to ensure efficient collaboration both interdepartmentally and within the creative team.Foster a culture of continuous improvement in creative processes to enhance productivity and quality.

  • Creative quality: Maintain high standards of creative quality across all internal and external teams, ensuring that deliverables meet or exceed expectations. Provide oversight and direction to ensure that all creative outputs align with the brand's aesthetic and strategic goals.

  • Resource Scaling for Global Expansion: Develop and implement strategies to efficiently scale creative resources, including team, agencies, tools, and processes, to support True Classic's global expansion.Ensure the creative team is equipped to handle increased demand and diverse market requirements as we grow internationally, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Areas of Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Paid & Owned Media: partner closely with our media channel owners to ensure all creative & content needs are met to efficiently scale our media efforts.

  • Product Marketing: Collaborate closely with the product team to craft compelling narratives that resonate with our audience & highlight our product stories in the most compelling ways.

  • Commercial: Partner with the commercial team to ensure all content & creative needs are met to support growth across all sales channels (eg Retail, Wholesale, Marketplaces, and Direct-to-Consumer) and countries.

  • Marketing Analytics: Leverage robust analytics and reporting to uncover trends and deliver actionable insights, enhancing content strategy through collaboration with the analytics team.

    Qualifications

  • 7+ years of marketing experience with a proven track record in a senior leadership role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with e-commerce, direct-to-consumer brands, and omnichannel retail is highly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate deep consumer insights into actionable content strategies.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to drive ideas from concept to completion quickly, overcome obstacles, and multitask across multiple projects.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit; willing to roll up sleeves and do whatever it takes to achieve the best results and win as a team.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing marketing teams; strong leadership abilities including mentoring, coaching, and inspiring teams.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change effectively.

  • Creative or Ad agency experience is a plus.

Work Environment:

This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home or any location with reliable internet access within the United States. You will spend extended periods at a computer, so a comfortable and ergonomic workspace is essential. We provide the necessary tools and support to ensure a productive and collaborative virtual work experience. Additionally, the company holds quarterly all-hands meetings in California, which you would be expected to travel to and attend in person.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $120,000-$150,000
