About the role
As a CBRE Regional Ops Director, you will lead a team of over 200 qualified professionals providing technical Facility Management services to a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment for one of CBRE’s largest Life Sciences clients across a region of Sites. CBRE scope of services includes maintaining systems such as GxP Utilities, ASRS/Material Handling, Laboratory Instrument services, interior and exterior Fit/Finish and all other site systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing). In addition, the Director will lead teams on CBRE Soft Services scope (Janitorial, Food, Landscaping/Snow removal, Pest Control, etc).
This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
All services delivered must maintain strict alignment to GxP guidelines required by the client and regulatory governing agencies.
What you’ll do
Be responsible for key performance indicators and financial performance of a region of GxP manufacturing sites. Implement measures to keep performance meeting client expectations.
Seek out new business. This includes the identification of opportunities, engaging in client solicitations, proposal developments, and crafting presentations.
Approve hiring contractors and subcontractors based on facility need. Implement bidding procedures as required for contract maintenance activities. Provide mentorship to the subcontractor performance to ensure meeting client guidelines and requirements.
Direct the daily operation of facility controls and asset management systems.
Develop and approve annual operating budgets.
Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentor. Lead all aspects of the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
The Director will implement a system to monitor the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. Direct reports include Facility Managers and related support staff.
Apply a robust knowledge of multiple subject areas, the business, and key drivers which impact departmental and multi-functional performance
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence) values. Mentor managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.
Identify and solve multi-dimensional, complex, operational and organizational problems using the appropriate resources within or outside the department. Apply root cause analysis to critical issues in the Manufacturing environment.
Represent scope of services and performance (financial and Key Performance Indicators) to senior level clients.
Significantly improves and changes existing methods, processes and standards.
What you’ll need
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Relevant technical field preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Experience in leading leaders in a matrix environment.
Experience in a Life Sciences company or as a service provider to Life Sciences is required. Working technical knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) are critical including being proficient in a Pharma Quality Management System.
Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information and convey performance expectations. Experience in Root Cause Analysis, Lean/6 Sigma.
Leadership skills to set, lead and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple department results within a function.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mentality.
Experience preferred in developing and handling organizational budgets.
