Position Overview

The Knowledge Manager supports the Operations Department (OP), Operations-Integration Directorate (O-I), at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The Knowledge Manager (KM) will support the Operational Effects Division (OPX). The KM will manage the processes of organizing, creating, using, and sharing collective knowledge to increase senior leader situational understanding of customer support effects, determine future areas of investment and improvement, and enable threat awareness and understanding for its supported global customers.

  • Continuously improve data visualization capabilities at briefings to enable accurate and timely DTRA senior leader decision-making.

  • Manage SharePoint sites and Intelink Sites.

  • Encourage a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaborative workflow among departments and project teams.

  • Provide daily updates on all operations, activities, initiatives, and DTRA client-performance data.

  • Ensure employees understand the knowledge management process including the purpose of doing so.

  • Ensure the right knowledge goes to the right people, and that this information is promptly applied to business activities.

  • Monitor progress and learning processes by keeping track of engagement, project outcomes, and other metrics.

  • Provide relevant coaching, training, and support to champion a knowledge management culture.

  • Ability to develop branch distribution lists

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for immediate SCI nomination and indoctrination.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability.  

  • Ability to conduct a KM assessment and then generate a plan to correct it based on your KM expertise.

  • Demonstrated experience in the ability and skills to manage multiple projects, keep track of, or adjust, existing tasks while identifying new tasks and expectations as projects evolve.

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills geared towards senior executives.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills that foster teamwork and create positive relationships with staff and principals.

  • Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports, briefings, memoranda, and presentations.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, problem solve, and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of military experience in operations; tactical or joint operations center experience preferred.
