About the job:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting the Controller in the company's daily accounting, and monthly reporting.
The right individual must understand various general accounting functions including the order to cash cycle, cost accounting journal entries, reconciliations, Account Receivable, Accounts Payable and asset and depreciation schedules. The role will cover a broad range of financial functions including cash management, preparation and review of profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, financial job reviews, and more.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership role in Job Cost Accounting and Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting through monthly entries adhering to the company’s financial closing schedule
Review, reconcile and manage financial statements, and report variances to the Controller
Financial statement preparation and analysis
General ledger account reconciliation
Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP
Assist with annual budgeting and monthly tracking
Create Ad Hoc reports for the Controller and CFO
Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity in financial transactions and reporting
Coordinate with the Controller regarding external audits and providing necessary information
Ensure compliance with state sales tax filings
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
4-6 years of accounting experience; preferably in construction or related industry
Strong Excel skills
Possess management and leadership skills and experience
Detail oriented
Ability to multitask
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with and manage a team
